Alisha Lehmann is a Swiss international forward who currently plays for Women’s Super League side West Ham, having joined the London club in July 2018.
The 21-year-old forward began her career at local side FC Konolfingen, before moving in 2016 to join BSC YB Frauen, the top flight women’s team of Swiss side Young Boys.
Having developed well in the Swiss top flight, Lehmann then impressed playing for host nation Switzerland at the 2018 UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship, catching the eye of West Ham boss Matt Beard, who moved to bring Lehmann to the newly-professional Women’s Super League side.
Having joined in August 2018, Lehmann has since established herself in the first team, making 33 league appearances for the Hammers, scoring nine times across the past two seasons.
Internationally, Lehmann began her senior Switzerland international career in 2017 and has gone on to earn 16 senior caps and scored three goals.
While playing for Switzerland, Lehmann met her current partner – fellow Swiss international teammate Ramona Bachmann, who also plays in the Women’s Super League for rival club Chelsea.
As their national team coach, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg, explained when asked about the pair’s relationship: “[This kind of] situation is not exceptional in women’s football.”
