Samuel Moutoussamy is a DR Congo international who currently plays for French top division side Nantes, having joined the Ligue 1 side from Lyon back in 2016.
The 23-year-old midfielder was born in France to a Guadeloupean father and Congolese mother, beginning his career in the youth ranks of local side Meudon AS. After seven years playing for Meudon, Moutoussamy then moved to another local side, Boulogne-Billancourt, between 2010 and 2011, then spending a short spell at Montrouge FC 92.
In 2011, promising young talent Moutoussamy was then signed to the Olympique Lyonnais’ youth academy, spending five years in the club’s ranks. Not only a key developing talent in the academy sides, Moutoussamy also moved up to play for the Lyon B reserve side from 2014. Across two seasons, Moutossamy made 50 league appearances for the Lyon B side, scoring twice.
Nantes then signed Moutoussamy, with the young Congolese midfielder initially joining the youth ranks, also playing for the Nantes B reserve side. Between 2016 and 2018, Moutoussamy played 40 league matches for Nantes B and scored five times.
Moutoussamy made his professional debut for the senior Nantes squad in August 2017 and to date, the midfielder has made 43 Ligue 1 appearances and scored three goals.
Internationally, the midfielder made his debut for the DR Congo squad in October 2019 and has three caps.
