Ritsu Doan is a Japanese international winger who currently plays for Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven and the Japan national team, who he has already earned 18 senior caps for and scored three goals since his debut in September 2018.
The 21-year-old attacking right midfielder from Amagasaki in Hyogo Prefecture began his career playing for the youth team of Gamba Osaka, spending a number of years developing in the academy setup before breaking into the first team in May 2015 and over the following few seasons making 15 league appearances for the club, scoring three times.
Doan joined Eredivisie side FC Groningen on loan for the 2017/18 season in a deal which included an option to make the move permanent. After scoring nine goals in 29 league appearances during the loan spell and surpassing the total of goals Arjen Robben scored as a teenager for the club, Groningen activated the clause in April 2018 with Doan signing permanently on a three year deal from July 2018.
The Japanese international striker played a further 32 league matches for Groningen, scoring six times, before moving to fellow Dutch side PSV Eindhoven early in the 2019/20 season and to date making 15 league appearances for the club, finding the net on three occasions.
