Maxence Caqueret is a promising young French midfielder who currently plays for Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais, having progressed through the club’s youth ranks.

The 20-year-old central midfielder began his youth career playing for local sides FC de Corbas and FC Chaponnay Marennes, before joining the academy setup at Lyon in 2011.

Player Spotlight: Angus Gunn

Angus Gunn is an English goalkeeper who plays for Premier League side Southampton, having moved to the Saints in July 2018 for a reported £13.5m transfer.

Born in Norwich, the 24-year-old goalkeeper progressed initially through the academy setup at Carrow Road, but moved to Manchester City’s youth setup in 2011 – a deal which saw Manchester City made to pay a £250k compensation fee by a tribunal.

Match Report: Derby 0-3 Manchester Utd

Odion Ighalo continues to justify his surprise move to Manchester United in the January transfer window, as the Nigeria international struck twice again as his side overcame Championship side Derby in a relatively comfortable FA Cup Fifth Round victory at Pride Park.

Overshadowing the return of Wayne Rooney against his old club was only ever going to possible with a performance of the highest standard, and that was exactly what Ighalo did for his manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Having been mocked as a novelty signing when it was confirmed, all of a sudden Ighalo’s move to Manchester United is starting to look like some extremely shrewd business.

Cover Feature: Mike Williamson leading Gateshead rebuild efforts

Gateshead FC have been through a tough time of late, but after financial and ownership troubles saw them relegated to the sixth tier National League North, they are currently under a significant rebuild being lead by player-manager and former Newcastle defender Mike Williamson.

Last season, under the controversial ownership of Dr Ranjan Varghese, and his associate and chief financial adviser Joseph Cala – a man quite literally banned from being involved in football – the then-fifth tier side underwent a season of turmoil and collapse off the field, while their players and staff fought valiantly on it to keep the side going.
